The Minister of Industry intends to encourage the construction of green buildings in Lebanon, through the establishment of an “ambitious program to be supported by government policy based on legal incentives.”
Construction in Lebanon and all over the region is down. It was much better in 2010,” said Tedy Chakhtoura, chief operations officer for the Middle East and North Africa at the construction company Derviche Haddad, part of the U.K. consortium CCL, one of hundreds of booths at this week’s event.
“Syria and Iraq could be an opportunity for a lot of construction. We used to work in Syria before the war. We can now come and go anytime once things are back to normal.”
